Ingredients

375g plain flour

1tsp bicarb of soda

3 tsps ground ginger

120g butter in cubes and cold

175g light brown sugar

5 tbsp golden syrup

1 egg

What to do

Preheat oven to 190C or 180C fan

Line trays with baking paper

Add flour, bicarb and ginger to a bowl. Add butter and rub together until breadcrumbs

mix sugar into the mix and combine

Add golden syrup and egg, beat until a smooth dough

Roll dough onto floured surface

Roll out to 1/2cm thickness and cut out shapes

Bake in oven for 10 mins
